MISFITS – Calling All Fiends • Studio Outtakes 1979-1980 Lp
Serving as a time capsule compilation of some of the earliest demos from the OG horror punk pioneers, Calling All Fiends: Studio Outtakes 1979-1980 does precisely what it says on the tin, collating several outtakes and demo versions of Misfits' material. As the infamous story goes, while 1982's Walk Among Us was and still is considered to be their debut album, the material that would make up their third LP Static Age (released in 1996) was all first committed to tape during the group's early formation over the late 70s, with this comp featuring several primitive versions of cuts that would eventually go on to become fan favourites such as 'Hollywood Babylon', 'Last Caress', and 'In The Doorway', while elsewhere versions of other much adored bangers arise including 'Who Killed Marilyn?', 'Where Eagles Dare', and 'Horror Business'.
