The Stalin – "Stop Jap" Lp

Japanese punk band formed by activist Michiro Endo in Tokyo in 1980. He described choosing the name for two reasons: "The name Stalin is very hated by most people in Japan, so it is very good for our image," and, as a socialist, he felt Stalin represented "The downside to every good idea". The first incarnation of the band lasted until 1985. Endo formed other related groups including Video Stalin (1987-88), and Stalin (2) (1988-1992). After the death of frontman Michiro, the band is continued by Jun Inui with various guest players and vocalists.

Hitoshi Oda was the drummer for The Stalin from July of 1982 until September of 1982. After that, his whereabouts became unknown to the rest of the band.
